So far, man has been able to survive many shifts in his environment (the worst and most devastating of them-- man caused), throughout the centuries. His ability to adapt to his own mistakes physically and mentally, to adapt to a changing world; so far, have kept him alive, while he has managed to wipe out other species around him.. The same survival mechanisms that kept our
FOREFATHERS alive can help keep us alive as well! How ever we are not our forefathers, we are a brand-new breed of animal. We do not have the skills or the knowledge of our forefathers. We have not had the same experiences--we do not have the same way of life--in many, many, ways, we bear no relationship to our fore fathers at all; but with much effort and training, we can learn.
These survival mechanisms that can help us can also work against us , if we become too arrogant, and we don;t understand and anticipate their presence
It is not surprising that the average person will have some psychological reactions in a survival situation. I will now examine some of the major internal reactions you and anyone with you might experience.
