Ant-acids and Medications Taken for Indigestion and Acid Reflux disease may Lead to Osteoporosis and Hip-fractures.

I am publishing this post, as I published the older following one because one of my good friends suffers from all the mentioned conditions but fails to recognise the role that the long term use of her prescribed blood pressure and anti-reflux medications actually CONTRIBUTE  to those conditions.

Because of  our addictions to fast-food restaurants and junk-foods, many North Americans now take acid blockers, ant-acids, anti-cholesterol weight-loss and other medications on a regular, long term, basis. They, and perhaps, many of their doctors, fail to realise that; while these medications are very effective, they may also prevent the absorption of calcium and  other nutrients necessary for bone and general good-health.
THESE PEOPLE, AND, PERHAPS, THEIR DOCTORS, FAIL TO UNDERSTAND THE HARMFUL SIDE EFFECTS OF  ALL MEDICATIONS, REGARDLESS OF THE BENEFITS DERIVED.
A new easily understood study, posted in The British Medical Journal, proves that there is a definite inter-connection  between the long term use of  stomach-acid blockers, blood-pressure medications, "water pills", falls and fractures. TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR and, if your medications are not, all, absolutely necessary, perhaps you should discontinue, or at least, reduce their long term use.
